Transitioning from “Hell on Earth” to a beautiful sanctuary. The objective for this project is to capture and manage the properties runoff, build soil, and encourage more bird species to visit. A system of conservation terraces was installed to capture runoff and soak it into ground to passively irrigate the berms that were planted with a diversity of bird attracting trees, shrubs and herbs. The berms were amended with compost, minerals, manure, mycorryzal fungi and mulch to give the soil a boost of fertility. A pond was installed to provide a perennial watering hole for all wildlife that is attracted to the site. One day the pond will be surrounded by a beautiful food forest that nourishes the client and her well managed ecosystem.
